What a week it has been for Dior…

Hello Judges,
Well what a weekend in the world of fashion it has been. Dior continues to intrigue the world of fashion with Raf Simons upcoming couture show headlining the shows in July. Either way I predict that the show itself will dominate this season with his vision of how couture should be.. Hopefully with his usual quirks and use of colour injecting a new look for Dior again.
Like the ‘Les Marquis collection’ of sunglasses adding a new look to the faces of many fashion conscious ladies. Alternatively, ladies and gents give the new luxury label with strong Italian roots a chance to grace our faces ….Bottega Veneta sunglasses .
Other fashion news appears to be the ongoing debate for men’s trends. Do we go sports tastic for the Olympics wearing the likes of Tag Heur sunglasses with their exclusive high grade lenses ideal for all different activities including funnily enough driving with there low light night lenses…… or pack a punch with Prada Linea Rossa sunglasses. Altenatively do we continue to rock the American prep trend and complete the look with Johnny Depp’s and Robert Downey Jnr favourite label Oliver Peoples sunglasses or Paul Smith sunglasses for the ultimate in cool.
Well, last weekend I celebrated my birthday with my friends with a few drinks and too much cake. Some quality tracks from the years and too much wrapping paper strewn over the floor on Sunday morning. One of my friends discovered my latest find that will be coming to the site very soon! So keep em peeled for a few new labels one well known making a welcome return and another new to me but the style is too cool for Skool !.
I have to say Sunday appeared to be like travelling back to early January with the Wind, Rain and of course the freezing temperature. So with nothing else to do I went over to the cinema to watch my first Polish film, not only a first but with a reactive gentleman with a colourful imagination and even more colourful use of the English Language whenever there was an explosion made for a second first. A film of serious content becoming the most hilarious thing to happen in a long time …Roll on when i get to tell a couple of my friends about this. Totally surreal….a Polish war film about espionage and a guy in the audience with Tourettes!

Come on team GB!!!!!…..

Hello Judges’,

Well what a miserable week last week this is turning out to be, with all the rain, grey clouds and bloody cold weather ! Here at the opticians I have been busy of late and had a few surprise pairs of sunglasses come in late so that has meant our excellent photographer having to click even more shots off. I am currently sat here with the heating on and looking out of my office window over a struggling sunny sky dotted with even more grey clouds. The weathermen are predicting a rainy May… I don’t want to get out my umbrella anymore or my raincoat. I and no doubt you do not want to be wearing our winter wardrobe when only weeks ago we wearing our summer outfits.

So the other week saw the announcement of 100 day countdown to the Olympics which provoked a conversation in the Opticians with a couple of my staff and customers that did set us about laughing. First the opening ceremony will be presented by Chas and Dave or Ant and Dec…. The more controversial option maybe Simon Cowell and Danni Minogue ( for the mixed relay we won’t ask how they will pass the baton without dropping it)

Then next came to the actual games that would be played, egg and spoon race, sack race which quickly became the grab a handbag and peg it over 400m away, the hopscotch marathon, the bitch slap for a kebab , shooting would be done after 20 shots of vodka and on a high street at midnight (probably in my home town of Nottingham!) Sailing would be pedalo’s on Skegness. Weight lifting would become the keg roll. In all we went through rather a lot of stupid ideas for what the world thinks of us British.

The Olympics are going to be a real chance for us to shatter these rather ‘off ‘preconceptions and show that team GB means business and bring home the gold. Going off track from the fun the Olympics are a chance for us to prove how great a sport nation we are with some of the best sport personalities competing on our turf. Particularly I am looking forward to seeing Stella McCartney’s creations in motion and see them on the podiums. I wonder if they will be wearing the Stella McCartney sunglasses ?

Oakley and Tag heur have been busy of late with being sported by the extremes and tag being sported by none other than our own Jenson Button. Look at our site for all oakley sunglasses and tag heuer sunglasses .

This is a winning year for us all and we will continue to strive for gold for you at Sendoptics

Keep smiling Judges’, and let’s will the sun to shine on us again.

Remember that www.sendoptics.com is the home of discounted designer sunglasses.

Keep ‘em peeled,

Well I don’t know about you Judges I am glad the sun is spending so much time with us so I can spend the time outside. I am getting fed up with the same re-runs of T.V shows and as for football taking over the channels . God help me when it comes to the Olympics. Princess Beatrice running the 10k run for life last weekend, now that is one lady I think could do with a huge pair of sunglasses ( XXL).

Brothers in arms…..legs and sunglasses!!

Good afternoon Judges,
Well it’s been a little over a couple weeks since I promised a regular men’s blog and as to our word this is it. So fellow Judges what is new with you ? Here at http://www.sendoptics.com/bottega-venata.html have been so busy with everything going in the shop and on line. I have added our new babies to the Judges stable ,those being http://www.sendoptics.com/balenciaga.html and the high luxe http://www.sendoptics.com/bottega-venata.html both attracting comments and praise so thanks so much for letting us know your thoughts on these, please continue to let us know your thoughts on the site and the collections and if you think I need to add anything drop me a line. Come on you know you love to tell me your thoughts as much as I love to hear them.
So Gent’s as promised in this blog we are dedicating to you savvy dandies who are wanting to know the Judges thoughts on this Spring Summers trends. Read on….. We have recently launched the New Prada linear rossa collection, Prada have chosen world champion British boxing star Amir khan to be the face of the collection to show the strength and youthful approach to these classic high performance sunglasses. (add collection tag)
So what look will you gents be sporting this Season personally I am thinking of the wider legged trouser so much freer and if the sun does come out it’s good to have a bit of air circulating isn’t it. Trousers in general will still remain slim fitting at the base of the leg but becoming wider around the thighs. Think Downton Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs and not forgetting the Woman in Black… Nostalgia is as big for men this season as it is for women. (add sunglasses type here)
The biggest colour story that is happening this season for you men is a favourite safe hold , whether it is indigo, cobalt, Wedgwood, sky or pastel blue is not only the colour of the waters we are all dreaming of this summer or the sky’s we have had a crafty peak at. Blue is not a mood it is the colour of peace and style. Don’t just wear it as a single block wear it separate shades or with other colors of the moment. Bottega Venatta has rocked the use of blue for it’s menswear spring/summer collection 2012.
With Gucci life become a fail safe fashion moment of plaid mayhem that of course worked so well in it’s monochrome, vision of a summer classically tailored collection will suit all body shapes and most of all add that safe classic twist to a fresh mature look that is still bang on trend. Go Gucci go …….. Just add a preppy twist with a bow tie loafers and Gucci sunglasses
Bah humbug no I have not lost it but the barber set quartet are rocking those stripes so well i have decided to rock it myself … not just Breton striped tops but the wider candy stripes or even convict stripes …. black or white or blue and white … go on give it a go ( add sunglasses here and comment) The best thing about stripes are the candy stripes think a stick of humbug rock and back to the days when i strolled down the prom.
Last but not least is the dressier side of menswear this season fabrics that are iridescent in high luxe finishes, satin silks and of course the ever present tonic, don’t go rocking the sweaty look sheen is the classy look fine velvet blazers are the way to dress at night.
Monochrome men is still with us too stay but this year try rocking the look with a colour block , blue and black are a good way to bring the two together . Prep it up style guru’s and rock the looks with the Judge. One final piece of advice Just choose one or two key pieces and invest in your accessories. With this spring summer think outside your usual safety zones try new things. Come on sod the judgement of others there is only so much time left until we celebrate the 21 of December……
For now all I am off to do a spot of shopping to go with my new sunglasses ( just one of the perks of the job )
Keep em peeled and enjoy the sun and stay safe

Gucci, gucci, Coupe….

Hello fellow Judges,

I hope you are all well and rested. We here at http://www.sendoptics.com/ are finally recovered from keeping abreast of all the latest fashion news and also fashion weeks. We enjoyed London for its usual cutting edge style that keeps Brittania ruling those waves, New York for its Modern corporate look, Paris for its Luxury two fingers up to the economic backlash and my personal favourite was Milan.

Italians do, do it better that is for sure the Milan fashion week has two faces these are Saturday night favourites Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, and the breathtaking Miu Miu collection which was the usual riot of color and print. The collection would of made many don there sunglasses. The young, fashion, on trend and forward thinking style mobs loved all of these labels collections. It was for Milan a truly exciting time and forgetting like other fashion packs the depressing economic cut backs.

As polar opposites to these you have the mature grown up power pack of Milan that still dominate the fashion magazines with their multiple lines and even hotels. Labels that helped shape the Italian look from back in the seventies include Giorgio Armani, Prada and of course the label on everyone’s lips at the moment Gucci. The label saw itself back to it’s true self simple shapes, effortless glamour, and a massive smattering of graphic block prints how could they have failed.

At http://www.sendoptics.com/Gucci.html the usual styles of aviator, big styles and angular sunglasses rule the collection and update any wardrobe to look like a gucci ambassador for style. Color is a massive inclusion to the collection this time with berry and nudes and lashings of Platinum and gold.

We love the fantastic reinvention of the collection and the subtler logo still present but not as prominent the famous Interlocking G

So you as the Jury it is upto you to let us know what you think of the new Gucci collection in relation to the other wonders we have to offer.

Have a great couple of days, until next time Keep on judging and keep em peeled

We all Want a bit of Prada Or is it to Muccia?!

Well hello there,

You little Judges are being so spoilt with all these blogs, you will be wanting more soon, and we shall be giving you much more in the coming weeks with the launch of some very very exciting new labels for us here at www.sendoptics.com

Well, Milan is over and Paris couture is been and done and what a whirlwind it has been watching all that fabric and colours for what we should be wearing at the end of the year. Personally, we think Mcqueen nailed it with the lace head covering dresses oh so wearable and well with a pair of sunglasses you could lie and say you are going for the invisible man/woman look…..

So back in Italy and the crazy pace of Milan, what with the chain smoking, espresso, grappa and the elegance of the Italians themselves, this years men’s and women’s shows at Milan were hailed as some of the strongest with fashion favourites Prada both men’s and women’s collections the fovourites of the whole week for many an editor…..

So if you are a Muccia Prada what do you do if you are short of a few male models for your menswear show?….Well, you fly in a truckload of Hollywood’s leading men and parade them up and down in a baroque inspired velvet laden heavily embellished menswear collection of course. Talk about lucky front pages for featuring not only the clothes but also the men. That is what I call marketing!.

Well, Muccia herself is the driving force behind the Prada label. As its creative director she not only fuels a passion for design but inspires so many in fashion. Prada has gone from strength to strength and has acquired shares in many companies along the way that were a thorn in their side. Muccia often is regarded not only as a designer but a despot in business. She is noted for keeping Prada at the head of its game by not only design but by taking control of rival companies. Most recently the company acquired the Jil Sander label and it placed Raf Simmons as its chief designer, noted for controversy and simplicity. This was a key move and he has put the house back on the map. Simmons is rumoured to be the successor to the throne of Dior due to his success eith the Sander house. Just remember, www.sendoptics.com told you first!

Prada this year is rocking back to the 1950’s with its high octane of pimped up autos and petrol collection. The collection is a mismatch of beautiful figure hugging pieces with heavy embellishment to prove that in spite of the economic climate we can all still shine and enjoy a piece of pure class.

Back in the early new millenium Prada launched the Prada Linea Rossa diffusion range.Originally it was developed to support the yacht team that Prada sponsor for the annual race under the same name. The line is the sports line developed for high impact and sports in general whether it’s running or water skiing, Prada ensures you are protected in such a cool way. Branding is high with the visible red stripe that is the Linea Rossa. www.sendoptics.com are proud to reintroduce this collection after a short absence. We believe with so many men taking time out to play sports and taking greater pride in themselves, the range will appeal to many with the great shapes and quality materials used in their make up.

Ladies, don’t you fret, there is the range of Prada’s especially for you. The collection is divided into two with classics having undergone a slight transformation and the introduction of the much talked about ‘Swing Collection’.

As well as being popular with stars, sunglasses have become popular with poker players. This is so they can help to hide reactions and to intimidate opponents. Tournament players are now being sponsored by some big names.

Did you know that the colour of lenses can often have great effect on the wearer as well as the style?

Grey and green lenses are neutral because they maintain true colours.

Turquoise lenses are good for medium and high light conditions, because they are good at enhancing contrast, but do not cause significant colour change.

Orange and yellow lenses increase both contrast and depth perception. They also increase colour variation. Yellow lenses are used by both pilots, hunters, shooters for their contrast enhancement and width perception properties.

Blue and purple lenses are purely cosmetic (oh you style junkies you!)

finally, one thing you all should know is that regardless of summer or winter sun , if we start to wear tinted glasses or sunglasses from a young age we can prevent damage and early ageing of the eye.

We hope you found this useful, and please look at our Prada, Prada Linea Rossa, and Miu Miu collections at www.sendoptics.com

Think sunglasses, think www.sendoptics.com

Keep them peeled,

The Judge.

Aviators are so over!

Well it’s the weekend and the reason I am writing this is due to something in the current edition of UK Vogue!…It may come as a surprise to many , but the style savvy have decided to throw all caution to the wind and declare you unfit for society if you are seen in a pair of aviators this season….
They say that VISORS are the best investment , but here at www.sendoptics.com we think they are not everyone’s cup of earl Grey. Of course we have them (PRADA, PRADA LINEA ROSSA, GUCCI,DIOR, and many more) but we also have a lot more to choose from, so take a peek and forget all about last years aviators and invest in something new. We think that ROUND is the way forward. I promise that you won’t look like the love child of Arthur Askey and Hirohito¬!!
Anyway, to share something funny with you that happened in a local supermarket express store,as I went through the door my ipod changed to a rather shameful Mika track (how sad am I?!). Not only that, but when i went to pay the lady serving had on a pair of shorts and a pair of nifty sunglasses. I asked ‘have you actually been out there today? You must be freezing!’. The reply (her name on the badge was Chantelle…..spelt the French way she informed me!….what other way is there to spell it i felt like asking, but i was brought up ‘proper’ so i didn’t!). The reply was a classic ‘yeah i have ; I am sick of everyone moaning it’s cold so thought I’ll pretend I am on holiday, the day is wizzing by, and people are smiling, that’s what it’s all about’. So either this famous supermarket needs to start random drug testing its staff or maybe this young lady is on to something. A bright outlook and a smile costs nowt as my gramps used to say!. Her sunglasses were a christmas present to herself she also said and a rather nifty pair of Paul Smith’s were being sported.
Regards, The Judge.
