A Duchess of style, and a McQueen to beat the best of the rest..

Hello my Judges,
How the devil are you ?. It seems the sun is struggling in the cloud leaden skies of late. I have lots to tell you, but again I have been told to keep it short and sweet ( what the hell ,I will do as I like….).
Well last month saw a year since The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tied the knot ,and congratulations to them both; how did you celebrate the big day.?…. I was of course locked up in the optician’s sorting my customers out with glasses and sunglasses. Kate already heralded as one of the most influential fashion icons of modern times got married in Mcqueen, designed by Sarah Burton ,who created heaven in a dress with the lace being made in Nottinghamshire and Paris and hand cut… the detailing was nothing short of genius.
Mcqueen was founded by Lee Mcqueen back in 1993 a young Londoner who shook the stale fashion world up. His ethos was based on sharp cuts with the use of tailoring methods and traditional or futuristic fabrics. All in all the look was easily unique, and gave Mcqueen a reputation as a rising star and soon catapulted him to new highs. He remained there until 2010 with his untimely death and his best friend Sarah Burton remains true to the original ethos.
You guessed it yet then Judges…..?! That is right I am pleased to say we have the new collection of Mcqueen sunglasses collection. The collection is stunning and has something for everyone . Colours are subdued with a few shapes going from unisex aviators to over sized acetate frames with feather etching and splashes of colour, so you can sport a wearable aspect of this incredible offering from the world famous label Alexander Mcqueen , and will continue to mean fashion on the edge with a quality synonymous with hand finishing and quirky ideas.
Not everyone will be wearing Alexander Mcqueen, but to be honest with the way labels are selling this year, the big hitters are not at the top of the pops , it’s more niche people are looking for something more unique. This collection of sunglasses certainly has unique twists, utilising the iconic skull and mcq that are the only branding to feature on these sunglasses.
So Judges are you keeping up with me on Facebook I hope so…… ‘Like’ us ..send optics (2 separate words) and keep upto date with special offers, news and competitions. Remember, www.sendoptics.com is the home of designer sunglasses at discounted prices. Alexander Mcqueen are 20% less at the moment and between friday 18 may until 21 may 2012 you will get an EXTRA 10% off ALL brands if you put promo code may2012 at check out to get this extra discount, but DONT FORGET!!!….it’s a flash sale and only applies 18/5 —- 21/5!!!!…and If you live non europe you get them duty free at 20 % less on top as they are VAT tax free…..how can you refuse!…
For now Judges’ keep Judging and keep em Peeled
We have also launched another very exclusive label Celine , more about this next week, so keep on checking us out and Keep those peepers protected
Keep smiling

Armani ‘Frame of Your life’ or should that be ‘This is YOUR life’ ?…

Good day Judges,
How the devil are you ? The weather is still, how do I say a little up and down.Bank holiday as usual was a wash out. I did nothing but watch classic war films and my hero Arthur Askey…dancing around like a little bumble bee I was…If you have absolutely NO idea who he is’ you tube’ him and he is ace!!!!….Ghost Train is a classic film with his buudy ‘Stinker’ Murdoch!!…Oh i could go on and on…
Have you seen the buzz surrounding the Godfather of Italian fashion Giorgio Aramani’s latest campaign for his optical and sunglasses range. The collection is based around design concepts for major design cities from around the globe. From London to New york via Beijing. The main idea being these frames not only help to express your personality but help you to create new looks, and most of all moments in your life. Has Armani gone soft?…. the answer is ‘ no ‘ …. the campaign on the website features people from each city in the frames dressed to express the feel of the city and themselves wearing key pieces from the collection some of the folk featured were found from Facebook even.
This idea got me thinking about our current ideas and usage of social media. Do we still use it just for communicating with our friends? The answer if you are like me is ‘no’. Facebook and other social media sites have evolved so much that now we can follow trends, polotics, actors, designers every moves. Armani really has embraced this idea with this intriguing idea and the frames really are second to none.
The name Armani to most brings forth ideas of simplicity of silhouette with Italian quality craftsmanship, I have a couple of very nice Armani Palazzo Suits ( very 40’s wide leg trouser) The look is timeless ; less about trend ,more about endurance and championing a statement in a way against fashion with it’s finger upto what is hot. Needless to say Armani never puts a foot wrong ,and with the opening of his luxury hotel in Milan where his headquarters are based.Armani is a force still to be reckoned with.
Armani ‘frame of your life’ Sunglasses collection is stunning with styles from an aviator based on american airforce original’s with the leather top bridge bar and finishing on the arms. Rounded 40’s shapes that suit men or women to glamorous big shapes in crocodile print and colours from silver and nude honey. The collection is classic and will keep you protected for seasons to come.We have Armani sunglasses and this collection on our site.
Armani stated that we should always posses a pair of sunglasses for daytime and one for evening. Do you think Giorgio wears his at night when walking along the streets of Milan hunting out inspiration for his new collection?. Either way ,I feel a tad guilty with my multiple pairs for just about any occasion.
So Judges’ I mentioned about the use of facebook and this got me thinking of Armani’s campaign could us Judges start our own Frame of your life campaign with Pictures of us in our favourite sunglasses ?
Have I mentioned ,mention that we have some exciting suprise arrivals due to arrive very soon so keep ‘em peeled
Get 25 people to ‘like’ us on facebook, at send optics (2 separate words), and get an extra £20 off,and if you live outside europe you get the sunnies duty free so a further 20% off as VAT tax free!…Come on, lets all get down and party, and prove 2012 will be a great year, and if the Mayans are proved right about the world ending on dec 21st, at least we will go down looking spectacular!
Have you made your desicions on your holidays yet? I am still considering my options but Europe bound it will be with the hope of getting some vitamin D into my skin I feel ever so slightly dissapointed with the weather so far this year. Not ideal for sunglasses but hell being the rebel I am, I still have pair in my bag ready.
Remember, www.sendoptics.com is the home of discounted designer sunglasses.
Judges, keep Judging and thanks for reading, until next time

When Prada met Schiaparelli

Well Judges,
Have you heard about the Prada and Schiaparelli impossible conversations exhibition about to open at the New York Met?. If not, here is a little surmise of what to see…. two of the best creative minds in one space with work spanning from the 20 th century to current day. The narrative that surrounds the beautiful clothing from both of fashion’s power couple, one past and one so current her Prada mainline and Miu Miu collection are on every A lister at the moment ,and Schiaparelli is seeing a resurgance of her collections going onto the red carpet where they belong.
Although Schiaparelli is a name that fell out of favour in the 40’s after Dior took her place with his ‘new look’ . If the embodiment of Schiaparelli’s style were ever more obvious it is in the ethos behind Prada and her design, and is similar in style to that of this remarkable woman. Prada has a new buzz about the label and with this reinforced vigour comes a special capsule collection for both men and women in two separate styles.
The collection is titled ‘Parallel universe’ and is the 1st transversal men’s and women’s. The individual mens collection is called ‘teddy’ and for you ladies ‘dixie’ .
The ‘Teddy sunglass’ collection is supposed to be golf meets 50’s Miami and has a unique look to an aviator style with a single bridge bar that wraps around the lenses . The look is stunning and adds a new dimension to a staple favourite sunglasses style for men.
The ‘Dixie sunglass’ collection is nothing short of genius based on Cadillac’s and Americana ,the style is cat’s eye with a superb Prada high style finish colourful, chrome and even available with mirrored lenses. Girl’s with this collection all I can say is how lucky you are to have these coming very soon. These are arriving as we speak, so we should have delivery very soon. Stocks will be lim ited, so reserve your Prada dixie sunglass collection and Prada teddy sunglass collection now!
I can’t wait to see the pictures from the exhibition and i cannot wait to see my first real person in the sunglasses from these special collections.
So Judges’, of late I have been immersed in Lots of fun things…. a couple of local exhibitions, watching some great war TV and the final episodes of Spartacus… goodness me ,those Gladiators could of done with some high performance sunglasses with all that sun.
Well for now Judges I will say see you later and keep ‘em peeled and remember that www.sendoptics.com is the home of all the latest styles and news. also, don’t forget to ‘like us on facebook. Send optics, (2 separate words), and if you get 25 of your friends to like us a s well, we will give you and extra £20 discount, and any non-eu residents (outside europe) get their sunglass duty-free without VAT tax, so an extra 20% off!…Even more benefits not to live in europe!….(only joking, i’m a total european me.)

Today I am feeling fine and dandy…..

Good morning Judges,
Well this blog is for you Gents out there, or those ladies who take an avid interest in the menswear market. One of the biggest looks to be dominating menswear this season is the look of the ‘dandy’ with the film adaptation of Dorian Gray with his youthful looks and flamboyant styles.Collars are going anyhow, casual is turning smart on it’s head, and denim is a no no. Cravats and pocket squares are hot to trot and brogues and retro sandals in the summer sun ( wherever it maybe hiding). Paisley and colour blocking along with clashing textures make for a more interesting look.
To compliment the look you need the right sunglasses go for something a little different fellow Judges, and think clever. Finishing touches like Armani sunglasses ….aviators with their leather bridge bar on these new classicss. Paul Smith sunglasses , model Chaucer is another contender with it’s rounded shape and classic colours.
Blue is this season’s new black , with the tones being bright and bold and the best use of this colour happened on the catwalk of Bottega Venetta sunglasses with there intricate use of blocks and shapes in the tailored menswear vision. With their special use of intricate weaving and minimal branding the look is luxury without being in your face. Remember, www.sendoptics.com is the home of all the most upto date sunglasses you will ever require, and if you get 25 people to ‘like’ us on facebook at send optics (2 separate words ) we will give you an extra £20.00 off.. what a great deal!
For now Judges
I need to sort my dinner and grab a cool glass of wine ….
Keep ‘em peeled until next time

What a week it has been for Dior…

Hello Judges,
Well what a weekend in the world of fashion it has been. Dior continues to intrigue the world of fashion with Raf Simons upcoming couture show headlining the shows in July. Either way I predict that the show itself will dominate this season with his vision of how couture should be.. Hopefully with his usual quirks and use of colour injecting a new look for Dior again.
Like the ‘Les Marquis collection’ of sunglasses adding a new look to the faces of many fashion conscious ladies. Alternatively, ladies and gents give the new luxury label with strong Italian roots a chance to grace our faces ….Bottega Veneta sunglasses .
Other fashion news appears to be the ongoing debate for men’s trends. Do we go sports tastic for the Olympics wearing the likes of Tag Heur sunglasses with their exclusive high grade lenses ideal for all different activities including funnily enough driving with there low light night lenses…… or pack a punch with Prada Linea Rossa sunglasses. Altenatively do we continue to rock the American prep trend and complete the look with Johnny Depp’s and Robert Downey Jnr favourite label Oliver Peoples sunglasses or Paul Smith sunglasses for the ultimate in cool.
Well, last weekend I celebrated my birthday with my friends with a few drinks and too much cake. Some quality tracks from the years and too much wrapping paper strewn over the floor on Sunday morning. One of my friends discovered my latest find that will be coming to the site very soon! So keep em peeled for a few new labels one well known making a welcome return and another new to me but the style is too cool for Skool !.
I have to say Sunday appeared to be like travelling back to early January with the Wind, Rain and of course the freezing temperature. So with nothing else to do I went over to the cinema to watch my first Polish film, not only a first but with a reactive gentleman with a colourful imagination and even more colourful use of the English Language whenever there was an explosion made for a second first. A film of serious content becoming the most hilarious thing to happen in a long time …Roll on when i get to tell a couple of my friends about this. Totally surreal….a Polish war film about espionage and a guy in the audience with Tourettes!
If you like this blog ,keep up to date with photos, news and promotions on our facebook page …send optics (2 separate words) . ‘Like’ us and be informed all about new product launches, flash sales and competitions to win great sunglasses! Remember, sendoptics.com is the home for discounted designer sunglasses .
So until next time When i will be telling you some more interesting fashion titbit’s.
Keep ‘em, peeled ,
The Judge

Come on team GB!!!!!…..

Hello Judges’,

Well what a miserable week last week this is turning out to be, with all the rain, grey clouds and bloody cold weather ! Here at the opticians I have been busy of late and had a few surprise pairs of sunglasses come in late so that has meant our excellent photographer having to click even more shots off. I am currently sat here with the heating on and looking out of my office window over a struggling sunny sky dotted with even more grey clouds. The weathermen are predicting a rainy May… I don’t want to get out my umbrella anymore or my raincoat. I and no doubt you do not want to be wearing our winter wardrobe when only weeks ago we wearing our summer outfits.

So the other week saw the announcement of 100 day countdown to the Olympics which provoked a conversation in the Opticians with a couple of my staff and customers that did set us about laughing. First the opening ceremony will be presented by Chas and Dave or Ant and Dec…. The more controversial option maybe Simon Cowell and Danni Minogue ( for the mixed relay we won’t ask how they will pass the baton without dropping it)

Then next came to the actual games that would be played, egg and spoon race, sack race which quickly became the grab a handbag and peg it over 400m away, the hopscotch marathon, the bitch slap for a kebab , shooting would be done after 20 shots of vodka and on a high street at midnight (probably in my home town of Nottingham!) Sailing would be pedalo’s on Skegness. Weight lifting would become the keg roll. In all we went through rather a lot of stupid ideas for what the world thinks of us British.

The Olympics are going to be a real chance for us to shatter these rather ‘off ‘preconceptions and show that team GB means business and bring home the gold. Going off track from the fun the Olympics are a chance for us to prove how great a sport nation we are with some of the best sport personalities competing on our turf. Particularly I am looking forward to seeing Stella McCartney’s creations in motion and see them on the podiums. I wonder if they will be wearing the Stella McCartney sunglasses ?

Oakley and Tag heur have been busy of late with being sported by the extremes and tag being sported by none other than our own Jenson Button. Look at our site for all oakley sunglasses and tag heuer sunglasses .

This is a winning year for us all and we will continue to strive for gold for you at Sendoptics

Keep smiling Judges’, and let’s will the sun to shine on us again.

Remember that www.sendoptics.com is the home of discounted designer sunglasses.

Keep ‘em peeled,

The Judge

2012 sunglasses style that may change your life.

Well hello Judges,
My goodness this week seems to be flying , and i cannot believe that we are edging ever closer to the summer months. Bring it on , as then everyday i can wear another one of my ever growing sunglasses collection. There has to be an upside to being optician , and summer sure is one of the best times.
So how has your week been going?.. I have to say mine has been going rather well. I have a party to go to at the weekend… a friend’s birthday ,so I am looking forward to letting my hair down. and have a Sauvignon Blanc or 3!. What is your tipple of the moment ?…a friend of mine keeps going on about Pink gin but it always reminds me of politicians during the war years.
I don’t know if you happened to read the Mail on Sunday’s last week in the’ You’ magazine. I came across an article that has inspired the next section of this blog. Simply, it grouped together the four main shapes for sunglasses and matched them with designer sunglasses.
So in a way this blog will do the same except go one step further and recommend which face shape suits which trend and not forgetting aviators.
Round sunglasses - These are back with a bang, and are taking over the faces of many up and down the country ranging from small to large frames. Available in various colours but to be ahead of the trend think tortoiseshell for that real authentic/classic look.
Think the Beatles, Liam Gallagher, Hirohito and Gandhi .
Round sunglasses suit people with a strong bone structure, long or oblong face as it helps to soften the sometimes harsh angles.
Labels that really do this trend justice are Balenciaga sunglasses, Bvlgari sunglasses, Gucci sunglasses and Tom Ford sunglasses .
Retro Sunglasses have been coming up trumps, and I have so many genuine retro and also ‘newtro’ sunglasses this is a look that will never leave, as the colours and shapes are classic and just get a freshen up each season. This season the introduction of tobacco shades and amber makes the new sunglasses look aged and shapes hail from any bygone era, larger frames tend to be taking inspiration from the 60’s think Jackie O, Mary Quant, Andy Warhol, Arthur Askey and Harold Lloyd.
The retro sunglass is dependant on shape but if they are more rounded than angled people with square, triangle or oblong face shapes will benefit though people with a heavier set face will benefit from something with more of angle.
Labels to look for to head back to the golden age are:- Oliver Peoples sunglasses, Stella McCartney sunglasses,Giorgio Armani sunglasses and Paul Smith sunglasses .
Cat’s eye sunglasses have clawed their way up the fashion pack picks , and scratched the eyes of many editors on the front rows of the shows. The look hails back to the 50’s , and with that great shape comes many benefits in the sense of the wider brow line that narrows at an angle to a much smaller base of the lens. This look can be carried of by all face shapes and the look is a very glamorous look think:- Paloma faith, Dita von Teese, the fifties housewife or secretary and not forgetting Dame Edna Everage.
Fancy sunglasses are what can finally be described as sunglasses that are more in your face and bold in statement. Colours rich patterns and quirky or intricate finishing touches. Shapes are varied and range size all that can be said are these are not for someone a person who does not like to stand out from the crowd.
Depending on confidence and shape this is a look that could be carried of by one and all.
Current trend setters are:- The Rizzle Kicks, Tinchie Stryder, Katy Perry,Lady GaGa and Jessie J
Labels that shine to the max are: - Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses , Marc Jacobs sunglasses , Bottega Venetta sunglasses for it’s luxury take on this trend, Dior sunglasses, Balenciaga sunglasses for pushing the boundaries.
Whichever of the trends you Judges’ choose to rock you, can be sure www.sendoptics.com has something for everyone, I have recently increased our discounts to you and made sure that we are the most competitive that we have ever been.
Tell your friends ,your gran ,or your worst enemy where to find those discounted designer sunglasses that are 100% genuine and come direct from the Judge to you.
Keep ‘em peeled, and remember we have two new lines to introduce soon……
Thanks as ever,
The Judge .

Like a Swarovski Cowgirl!!

Hello and welcome,
Well It’s been a funny old week don’t you think ? We had the bank holiday giving us all a short week, but I don’t know about you this week has been a little difficult to get motivated. The sun seems to have dissapeared from the UK’s Skies of late and I am feeling a little sad…. that was not our summer those couple of weeks ago surely!
I went down to London at the tail end of the week for two days to get a bit of rest and of course have a look to what the fashion crew are wearing down south. I also went to the Damien Hurst exhibition at the Tate modern I would love to say it was brilliant and mind altering, but alas i left thinking some of it was good but the rest I just did not get….. After the experience there was only one cure for this confusion and that was to get back to what i knew….
Bond street and Selfridges were calling. So after trawling the beauty aisles for a new scent I headed for a coffee and a cake….come on enough already I needed a cake after the experience. Next i headed over to the Sunglasses section and had an experience that cheered me up no end. A very attractive fashionista in a denim skirt, nude blouse covered in floral jewels amid crystals looking a bit like an extra from a studio 54 party or a rhinestone cowgirl. The lady in question was cooing at the latest Swarvoski sunglasses colllection .Like a princess at a ball, she was having the time of her life, and after only minutes settled on the Alanis model 15 Swarvoski in transparent blue. I ,like her ,left with a smile, and on to the other labels… I was pelased to see the majority of labels we had and were more competive with our pricing. I for once was very good and only left with a pack of Krispy creme dounghuts !
For now my Judges I am going to leave you to your day. Take care and let’s hope the sunshines after the rain again soon.
We have a couple of labels coming to the site very soon
So keep em peeled
Keep ‘em peeled,
The Judge.
Also fellow Judges’, if you like our fashion blogs please follow us on facebook… send optics ( 2 separate words with a gap between them) and’ Like’ us….It will make our day!!!…and we will keep you updated with all the latest fashion news and special ‘deals’ we do for all our fans….

Sir Paul Smith takes over the world….

Hello Judges,
How the devil are you on this fine day, all good I hope !
Well here at the optician’s I have to say we are maxed out on Sunglasses .For once we have taken full delivery of all this years stock and are pleased with the results. For yet another year looking back to what I ordered late last year it appears the Judge’s eye was right with the choices. A fellow Optician is reporting slow sales and is wishing he had got on the Bottega Veneta sunglass wagon before it left last year. You Judges seem to know what you like on the website …we are having a flurry of orders coming through from Europe and London for Balenciaga sunglasses and Bottega Veneta sunglasses …..the fashion capital knows it’s stuff.
Paul smith seems to hold no boundaries when it comes to his massive empire. Recently Paul Smith announced and launched his collaboration with British Surf label Swami, not only that but his store in the big apple on 5th avenue celebrated it’s 25th birthday. Seems the U.S. still have an affinity for us Brit’s and our style.
Most recently though Sir Paul celebrated another coupe with the opening of his store in Amsterdam. Holland appears to love us all too. Paul Smith’s S/S12 latest menswear collection incorporates Psychadelic prints with traditional tailored twists the collection is a man’s dream and with the latest Paul smith sunglasses collection remaining transparent or in strong neutral or monochromes there is no chance these will take away from this vibrant style only compliment it.
Nottingham born Paul Smith not only still loves his home town but does various collaborations with the local council including branding and design of product for their visitors. I love Paul Smith Eye wear and have several pairs of sunglasses and prescription ophthalmics.
I am off to don my stripey scarf and close up for the day, so Judges keep ‘em peeled !
Stay safe and look out for another blog in a day or two
Keep ‘em peeled,

The Judge

Dolce and Gabbana baa rocks!!!!….yeah man!

Hello , and I hope you have had a pleasant Easter My fellow Judges,
All the foil wrappers and the remnants of the chocolate overload all disposed of I hope. I am currently writing this on the sofa with the grey clouds scudding outside. At least the birds are a little quieter at 4 am ! So what is new with you Judges’ ? Did you get out and about like many of the Brit’s who took to the motorways and sky over the break? If so, I do hope you had a great time wherever you went.
At the opticians and also on the website I can safely say that the bank holiday blip in the Summer has not stopped a glut of activity and purchasing…. thank goodness the post office is back open so I can send these off. It seems Stella McCartney sunglasses and Prada designer sunglasses are still top sellers off the website. In store it seems to be a mixture of Balenciaga sunglasses, Paul Smith sunglasses and Oliver Peoples sunglasses.
I am not sure if any of you read the Saturday Telegraph on 07/04/12 , they had the most intense cover shot from behind the scenes with the Italian Duo Dolce & Gabbana. The majority of the article is illustrated with their forth coming A/W12 collection which is a Sicilian take on the Baroque trend that is emerging a strong contender for A/W12.
This look is perfect for the explosive Duo and shows there strengths with strong shapes in flattering feminine shapes, with heavy gilded style patterns, lashings of lace, heavy needlepoint inspired floral shocks amongst a heavy background of black and cream. The collection is one of the strongest in many a year and nods back to Dolce & Gabbana’s show stopping collection in ‘92 La Dolce Vita which is one of the collections that is responsible for hurtling the Duo to the forefront of feminine glamour and dramatic dressing.
Alongside this collection the current trend for lace is inspired by period drama’s, a sense of more opulent times and of course the ultra feminine look that is seeing a surge on the high street.
We do have a limited stock of the exquisite Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses from last season that will dress up any outfit to bring it to the height of style. The sunglasses are a large frame in various colours and have been made using a special technique of laser cut lace then impregnated into an acetate to make what can only be described as a stylish contradiction. Technology versus tradition, Judges all i can say is if it’s a purchase for yourself or a loved one the Dolce & Gabbana designer sunglasses collection will have you looking on top form in the style stakes.
For now Judges I am off to run a bath and catch up with some ancient aliens ( my new addiction )
Ciao for now
