The future’s bright, the future’s…weird!
Ok so this week we’ve taken a little trip into the future world of sunglasses! So, what have we got to report back? Well, future fashion is a bit weird.
Where to start? Have you ever wished that your sunglasses be more than just a fashion accessory that blocks out harmful UV rays? No? well, you don’t need to! Because the wacky inventors at German based “no-so-bright sunwear” have gone ahead and decided that this is a problem that they needed to address.
And their solution? “Uber shades.” Incorporating the ideas of a Swiss Army knife into a pair of shades (See below) With over 260 different accessories to chose from, you can do anything from applying makeup to drinking through a straw!
Quite who needs such tools to be integrated in their sunglasses is beyond me, but my guess is that the problem has evolved from Oakley’s “Thump” sunglasses which have a built in MP3 player.
Should you require something a little more á la mode, these YSL 6114’s should provide the contemporary wrap around look that you’re looking for!

Stay cool this summer
Finally! It’s here, the sun, it’s here!
First sign of any sun in Britain, and there are a few things you can guarantee. You can’t buy bread rolls for love nor money as everyone and his dog has dragged that barbeque that hasn’t seen the light of day for the past 9 months from the shed! Queues on the M5, as we all rush on down to the South coast, and obviously the sea of pastey white bodies, trying to catch a few rays, while they still can!
Though, we’re not stupid, we know about the risks of UV rays (we all saw that horrific skin cancer advert last summer!) so we cover ourselves with factor 1 million suncream, Great! Problem comes though, when people forget to protect their eyes against the same harmful rays. Unlike the skin, the lens of the eye cannot repair damaged tissue inflicted.
Young children are also at high risk so it is important for parents to protect them, and their future eyesight. Sendoptics has a devoted section to providing safe, affordable eye wear for children such as these cool Rayban 9510’s (pictured) for boys or the pretty Rayban 9512 for girls.
Should mum and dad wish to treat themselves (and their eyesight) Prada’s unisex SPR 54G large wrap around design helps to minimize UV damage.
